Adopt a community project. Create a lasting impact.
This Mandela Day, 18 July 2025, Jozi My Jozi invites our corporate and community partners to be part of meaningful, community-led change. We have curated a selection of ready-to-go projects across Johannesburg – from revamping police stations and upgrading classrooms to supporting local food gardens, youth programmes and public art.
Each project aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals and has been reviewed for sustainability, feasibility, and real community need. These are not one-off gestures. They are springboards for long-term engagement, collaboration, and care.
Your Role
Choose a project that suits your team’s size, values and budget. Once you’ve expressed interest, we will connect you to the relevant partner and provide a summary of the activation’s requirements. From there, you take full ownership.
Your team will be responsible for:
- Procuring and transporting all project materials (paint, tools, books, equipment)
- Managing team logistics, including transport and catering
- Coordinating your activation on the day with pre-support from the JMJ team
Jozi My Jozi acts as a connector. We do not manage your project, but we support you to make it impactful, meaningful and community-aligned.
Why Every Day is Mandela Day
This year’s theme focuses on sustainable change, not symbolic gestures. That means building relationships, learning from communities, and creating impact that lasts well beyond July.
Many of our projects are designed as starting points for long-term partnerships. Whether it’s helping an ECD reach silver status or joining a youth arts programme, Mandela Day can be the beginning of something ongoing.
