Digital Learning Centre At Maharishi

In the heart of Marshalltown, Jozi My Jozi and Altron have turned part of the Maharishi Invincibility Institute campus into a high-energy Digital Learning Centre that gives inner-city youth a direct line into the tech future.

Designed as more than a computer lab, the centre immerses over 200 Grade 8 and 9 learners in engineering, robotics, coding and digital skills, while helping them choose subjects and pathways that match their strengths. Through hands-on robotics and “tinker” sessions, students learn to problem-solve, prototype and think like designers and innovators – skills many inner-city learners would never normally touch before leaving school.

The hub also doubles as a shared resource for primary and high schools in the inner city, with dedicated facilitators running sessions during the school day and after-school programmes in the afternoons. Linked to Jozi My Jozi’s wider network of digital centres, it forms part of an emerging ecosystem of tech spaces that spot talent early and build real pathways into STEM studies, learnerships and future-fit careers.
