In2Position Gugulethu Football Development Programme
Jozi My Jozi, in partnership with the Maharishi Institute, is using Maharishi Park as a live proving ground for what sport-led urban regeneration can look like. Together with the In2Position Gugulethu Football Development Programme, this initiative turns a world-class inner-city facility into a pipeline for talent, mentorship and leadership for young people who are usually locked out of elite spaces.
Anchored at Maharishi Park which is already emerging as a hub for sport, wellness and community upliftment, the programme uses football as the hook and life skills as the payload. Young players gain access to disciplined training, strong role models and structured pathways into education, wellness and future opportunities on and off the pitch.
South African football icon and Banyana Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis leads as host, bringing top-level insight, inspiration and a powerful example of women leading in sport. Her presence underlines the programme’s core belief: when you back youth with safe spaces, serious coaching and real mentorship, you are not just building better players, you are building more confident, purpose-driven citizens and stronger communities across South Africa.
