Johannesburg High Court Precinct

The Johannesburg High Court Precinct revitalisation programme is underway, with the project value expected to top R100-million – a major investment in the inner city’s justice corridor.
The programme forms part of a broader push to repair, reimagine and future-proof key civic infrastructure in the CBD. The upgrade covers full internal works: mechanical and electrical systems, building fabric and finishes, plus a modernised security layer to restore dignity and safety to this landmark.
A closed RFP has been issued to specialist professional teams, with proposals under evaluation by a cross-functional review panel. The appointed team will deliver a stage 1 technical assessment, including condition audits, proposed interventions and preliminary cost estimates.
This will unlock sponsor engagement, additional funding and a phased implementation plan that keeps the court operational while transforming it into a resilient, people-centred justice hub for decades to come.
