Maharishi Park
Maharishi Park is what happens when you refuse to accept that a dead corner of the CBD is “just the way it is”. Once a derelict, unsafe patch in Marshalltown, it is now a vivid sports and recreation hub anchoring Maharishi Invincibility Institute’s emerging Education Town and Jozi My Jozi is proud to be in the engine room of that transformation.
Developed in partnership with Jozi My Jozi and funded by One Resources Group (on behalf of the One Foundation) and global sports flooring leader Belgotex, the park features a modern sports clubhouse and multi‑purpose courts for basketball and five‑a‑side football, integrated with Maharishi’s high‑performance fitness centre. It is designed to support physical well‑being, academic success and personal growth in one tightly stitched precinct – a place where students can study, train, and breathe all within a few city blocks.
For Jozi My Jozi, Maharishi Park is more than a beautiful court and a fresh lick of paint. It is proof that when education, sport and community vision pull in the same direction, you can flip a “no‑go” zone into a daily gathering space for young people, coaches and community programmes. The park already hosts development initiatives like the In2Position Gugulethu Football Development Programme and festival‑style events that blend wellness, culture and sport, turning the inner city into a live campus instead of a commuter tunnel.
