We are working to improve safety and accessibility in Jozi’s gateways. A well-maintained urban environment is essential for both pedestrians and motorists. As part of our efforts to revitalise the city, we are focusing on:

• Prioritising pedestrian safety and accessibility – repairing and maintaining sidewalks to ensure safe and accessible walkways for all. This will enhance mobility, particularly for the elderly, children and individuals with disabilities
• Enhancing road safety and vehicle maintenance – addressing potholes and damaged road surfaces to improve driving conditions and minimise accidents
• Infrastructure repairs in key areas – focusing on gateways and other high-traffic zones in the inner city, ensuring these spaces are safe, functional and welcoming
