PRIMARY & HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMMES
Our Primary and High School programmes started taking shape in 2024, when we listened to what schools in Soweto and the Joburg CBD said they were really struggling with: crumbling infrastructure and thin support for teaching and learning. We used surveys as our compass, then zeroed in on 20 focus schools for high-touch, long-haul support which is our focus in 2026 and going forward.
Mandela Day 2025 was a turning point. Corporate partners stepped in, with Microsoft installing a Computer Centre at Phefeni High School in Soweto and a Tinkering and Robotics Space and Career Portal launched at Maharishi High School with the support of Altron. Early monitoring and evaluation at Maharishi High School shows that learners in the tinkering and robotics programme are significantly strengthening their investigation skills – a critical, scarce capability for life beyond school.
Alongside this, the Mosaic Charity has helped prepare over 200 educators, including some from Schools for the Deaf for the 21st century classroom, while Wits School of Education has adopted five schools for deep, data-driven support of learner outcomes.

Join Jozi My Jozi in turning classrooms, labs and after-school spaces into launchpads for inner-city and Soweto kids. Fuel a robotics lab, power a digital hub, sponsor teacher training or bring your own skills into the mix - money, time, networks, all of it matters.
Add your name to the movement and we’ll plug you straight into a real school, real learners and a real change story.
