Property activation partners

Neglected buildings become engines for learning and livelihoods
At Jozi My Jozi, we do not wait for perfect market cycles or shiny new builds; we take the “What now?” buildings and turn them into “Hell yes” city assets.
Our property activation partners initiative connects underused properties into the Jozi My Jozi ecosystem – a livewire of education, enterprise development, arts and culture, innovation, and community programmes that reoccupy empty space and pump energy back into the inner city.
We are not brokers chasing transfers; we are activators obsessed with usefulness. Together with owners, we map the best-fit future use for each building, pull in the right operators and partners, and “super-connect” the asset to credible tenants, anchor institutions and real precinct activity. The result is a building that works harder for its owners, its users and for Jozi’s stubbornly alive, beautifully gritty heartbeat.
This is not theory – it is already reshaping Main Street, with catalytic backing from Anglo American and other city believers:
- 44 Main Street: under the Anglo American Foundation, now home to Jozi My Jozi and a vibrant mix of creative arts, performing arts and technology enterprises
- 45 Main Street: enabled for the Maharishi Invincibility Institute, now the epicentre of Education Town
- 47 Main Street: enabled for the Wits Crucible – Centre for Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation
- 56 Main Street: acquired by NextUp (David and Tracey Frankel), developing a hub for innovation, AI and robotics in partnership with the Maharishi Invincibility Institute
This is how we prove that neglected buildings can become engines for learning, livelihoods and a city people are proud to call home.
