The Protect initiative is about hardening taxi ranks against crime without killing their energy. The project will develop strategies for an integrated security network inside and outside ranks – from control rooms and surveillance to better coordination with existing gateways and CID patrols. 

Launching in October 2026, the initiative aims to create ranks where commuters feel safer, traders can work without constant fear and operators can run their businesses with greater certainty.
